Sally joined the Department for Business and Trade in September 2024 to lead on the development of the UK’s Trade Strategy. Following its publication in Summer 2025 she is now responsible for the UK’s global Market Access Strategy and the Ricardo Fund, a new initiative from the UK government launched as part of the new Trade Strategy to unlock £5bn of export opportunities.
Prior to joining DBT Sally led EY’s Trade Policy & Strategy team, and was recognised as a leading specialist in trade policy from both a global and UK/EU perspective. She advised organisations across multiple industries including FTSE 100, Fortune 500, privately owned companies and trade associations. She also had frequent contact with the UK Government and the EU Commission.
Sally holds a BSc in Astronomy from University College London.
