Martin McKervey is a civic and business leader, currently serving as a Non-Executive Director at AESSEAL plc and Director at Vulcan Seals. A former partner at global law firm CMS Cameron McKenna Nabarro Olswang LLP, Martin brings over 30 years of legal expertise in the construction, infrastructure, property, and energy sectors. He has held influential roles including as Chair of the Sheffield Property Association, Independent Chair of the South Yorkshire Strategic Infrastructure Inquiry, and he is Chair of the Jobs Foundation Yorkshire Business Council. Martin is a Business Commissioner working with the Sheffield Poverty Truth Commission. He is a trustee of St Luke’s Hospice, Whirlow Hall Farm Trust, the Herbert Hughes Memorial Fund and, Music in the Round. Martin was High Sheriff of South Yorkshire (2021/22),and is a member of Council of the High Sheriffs’ Association of England & Wales. Martin has a deep commitment to regional growth, governance, and community engagement and, to giving something back to Sheffield and South Yorkshire, a city and region that has given him so much since coming to the University of Sheffield in 1980.
