
Jon Sopel is the former BBC North America Editor, leading the broadcaster's coverage of everything related to US politics and key events across the Atlantic. He is also the author of A Year At The Circus: Inside Trump's White House. After more than twenty years, Jon left the BBC to front the daily podcast The News Agents with Emily Maitlis and Lewis Goodall.
Before taking on the BBC's most senior overseas posting, Jon was a lead presenter on the BBC’s News Channel, and fronted the Politics Show, He served as Chief Political Correspondent, and spent three years as BBC Paris Correspondent. He has also presented Breakfast, Newsnight, HARDtalk, Daily Politics, and a range of news bulletins including the main News at One, Six and Ten bulletins.
Away from television, Jon has presented PM on Radio 4 and published an early biography of Tony Blair. He has
been voted Political Journalist of the Year by the public affairs industry. Jon has also written If Only They Didn't

UnPresidented: Politics, pandemics and the race that Trumped all others, a personal diary of the 2020 presidential
election.
