Great technology doesn’t succeed on its own – it is powered by people!

The UK has access to world class digital technologies, but the real challenge is making them work day to day on the shop floor, within organisations, and at scale. Too often, transformation stalls not because the technology isn’t good enough, but because the human side of change is overlooked.

We work closely with industry, policymakers and technology providers to tackle the people related issues that often hold change back – things like culture, trust and decision making. Our work turns these complex challenges into practical tools that help organisations adopt digital technologies more effectively, and deliver real benefits in productivity, resilience and job quality.

Because we are funded by UKRI, everything we produce is free to use.

Our tools and resources, developed in partnership with manufacturers and technology providers, show how people led approaches work in real world settings. They include projects focused on:

• involving the right people at the right time in digital decision making
• practical approaches to prioritising digital investments and performance measures
• inclusive approaches to digitalisation, including dignity at work, neurodiversity and addressing bias

Through our two UKRI funded centres – the Centre for People-Led Digitalisation (P-LD) and the Centre for People-Led Net Zero (P-LNZ) – we help manufacturers and their partners to design and deliver transformation programmes that work for both organisations and the people within them.
